another masking technique tutorial & giveaway

How to make your own masks:
(a lot of you may already know this technique but we have to consider the newbies out there who would be thrilled to learn this - like I was years back!)

1. Stamp your image onto a tag.

2. Then stamp another image onto a Post-It note (write on/nonsticky side) so that a part of the image is directly on top of where the sticky part is.

3. Peel off Post-It note from pad.

4. Carefully trim out image. It's ideal if you trim just right inside the image.

5. Tack Post-It image on top of stamped tag.

6. Ink stamp. I like to place my big stamps on a table (rubber side up) and then ink it. This is way less messier than if I tried to put a big block of stamp on top of a tiny ink pad.

7. stamp image on top of tag.

8. Your tag will look like this. If you didn't trim inside your image in step 4, you could end up with a white halo around your image. I did in this case anyway only because the I didn't perfectly ink up my stamp. I'm totally ok with that.

9. Remove your mask. And add button and handtyped saying.

I made 30 of these cute tags and put them in this super fun mini Halloween art journal kit available here:).

So I've been totally not getting enough sleep lately (it's all yoga's fault - I'm wide awake by 6:10am every morning regardless of what time I go to bed). I wasn't thinking about the last giveaway's deadline and totally made the wait too long. Now there's 2 giveaways going on now.

You ready for this one?

Because we don't have kids yet, my sample page is of our only son right now:).

Leave a comment here to win this fun kit and I'll draw a name for each of the giveaways on Thurs evening 8pm PST. Good luck!
