Meeting Max | Inspiration

Rona back again! As I made this layout, I was a little sad that we hadn't had any snow for Christmas, and seeing these photos of our puppy when we first got him just about 5 years ago made me a little nostalgic for the white stuff.

For this layout, again, I used the "Oh What Fun" line of Evalicious goodies, but I focused on the December ones, and not so much the Santa specific stuff.

One of the  wood veneers in the set has "Dear Santa" on one side, but of course the other side is left to your imagination. So I stamped "Happy Day" from the Oh What Fun Clear Stamp Set in Versamark ink, and added clear embossing powder on top. This created a resist so that I could colour over the rest of the wood veneer in green ink.

I had a little oops as I was kind of in the Christmas mode, and mechanically wrote December 25th on the Oh What Fun Snip Snip Label. I repaired it with a little bit of paper... shhh... it will be our secret. :)

I love the look of all the little bits layered together... puffy dots and stickers, snip snip labels, wood veneer. Just a lovely little cluster.

For the title, I added extra room to the matting at the top to fit in some of the Ledger Alphas Puffy Stickers. I love that these alphas are puffy stickers, and not just chipboard. They stay together really nicely, and don't peel off in layer the way chipboard letters sometimes can.

I made another little alteration to the #24 wood veneer by very very carefully cutting out a bit of the number "4" to convert it into a "1," as we had brought Max home on December 21st. I don't think anyone will be the wiser. I coloured over the wood with ink, and then added a little sparkle.

And one last look at that precious little puppy face. Man, he was cute! Who can resist scrapbooking with a muse like that.

Thanks for looking!

Love how you altered the number veneer, great idea! And I constantly repair date numbers, too. The 2014/15 switch will be my next problem.
