Happy Memories | Inspiration

Laura here sharing a new layout today.  I am really enjoying using a minimal of patterned papers and just letting these gorgeous Evalicious stamps, tags and embellishments shine!

Back in 2011 my husband, little guy and I were fortunate enough to spend Halloween at Disney World with our friends.  It was an incredible experience.  My husband dressed up as Indiana Jones and our son was his son "Mutt" Jones.  I, of course, did my own thing and dressed as one of the Disney princesses.

I added colour to these great wood veneer using water colour paints, I love how easy it is - the paint takes really well and dries super quick.

I also added some paint to this page tab to help it pop of my white background.  Aren't the badge buttons (flair) and wood veneer so cute!

I love using these large tags on my layouts, they are really pretty and graphic - plus they remind me to journal the story behind the photo!  I used one of the stamps from the "this way"  collection to document the day of the week the photo was taken, super fun!

Explore | Inspiration

Hi there!

Laura here today sharing a page documenting a favourite summer activity - cave exploring!  There is a park about 45 minutes away from our trailer that has several caves that all the boys in my family love to crawl into and through.  They love to check out the varied depths, widths and temperatures.  If memory serves me correctly there are about 7 that they can go into.  I am the waiter, stuff carrier and photo snapper - it is good to have a purpose, lol!

I started my page by adding water colour paints to the background, using two different techniques and three different colours (well, actually I used several colours, but combined them to make three colours found in the products that I used.

Then I began building up and offset grid of cards, tags, and my photo.  After which I layered on lots and lots of great Evalicious Embellishments.

 

I have a couple of Disney photos that I think would look great with this collection, may just have to try that next!

Flowrider | Inspiration

Hi there!

Laura here today sharing my latest DT page for Evalicious today.

As always I started my layout by cutting and pasting my patterned papers into place, finding inspiration from a recent PageMaps sketch, this step most often comes together really quickly for me.

Then I spend some time playing with embellishments.

And with the great products at Evalicious,  it really isn't hard to find a fun combination of wood veneers, badge buttons and puffy stickers etc.

As you can see, I love layers of patterned papers AND layers of embellishments.

You know that there is a story behind every photo, so remember to journal even if it's only a bit.  The story for this page is about a boy that wanted to ride this Flowrider so desperately, it was  pretty much the first thing he did when we took a Caribbean cruise back in 2013.  Children were only allowed to go up onto their knees (no standing allowed), he was the first child to try - and many adults were there trying to decide if they should try.  After only a few minutes he was able to move up onto his knees, no small feat mind you.  The crowd cheered and applauded, it was awesome for him!  Almost worth the price of the cruise right there! ha!

Tickle My Fancy | Inspiration

HI there

Laura here today sharing a new project, I have been having so much fun with the Field Notes collections it has been just perfect for documenting all our little adventures!

This layout features photos taken at a zoo near our trailer, this funny camel loved to be tickled and then tossed his head back and laughed every time, it was the cutest thing!

I really wanted all the colours in the embellishments to pop, so I started with a white background, adding some Distress Ink and then mounting it onto this fun MME polka dot paper.

You can see my trademark of lovely little clusters of embellishments around the page. These wood veneers are just amazing!

Clips, puffy stickers and page tabs adorn both sides of my central focal point.

A bit of stitching and doodling, round things off.

I love how the colours in this collection, play off my photo.
