Gift Card Pockets | Inspiration

Hello, All! Alissa here and I've got a couple gift card holders/tags I made with some blank cards I had on hand just for this sort of project.

Not long ago, I found these awesome blank "thank you" cards that reminded me of library cards in library pockets. I thought they would be perfect to embellish with paper crafting products some day. When I was brainstorming ideas for this post, I ran across these cute cards and decided to go crazy embellishing them with the amazing products from Evalicious! I made a birthday card and a thank you card.

I used the "happy _____" tag from the Life's Sweet Large Tags set to cover the "thank you" of the original card and added puffy stickers, stamping, a paper sticker and wood veneer to create a cute birthday card that will hold a gift card (most likely Starbucks) for someone special in my life.

This one is a "thank you" card for a sweet friend. Lots of puffy stickers and a wood veneer tag really made this one cute. I think the bubble tea cup is perfect for this project. I mean, it looks just like the Frappuccino cups at Starbucks and the hearts are just so sweet. :)

So, who in your life needs a cute card? And, maybe a little gift card to go with it? Don't worry if you don't have these exact cards. Always be on the lookout for blank canvases in the card world. It's so fun to start with something pre-made and make it even better. The recipient will LOVE it! :)

I do hope you've enjoyed this little project and are inspired to make your own cards/tags starting with something pre-made.

Have an awesome day!

Alissa

Happy Day, Happy Week | Inspiration

Hi everyone, Rona here sharing a culinary creation, erm, I mean layout with lots of Evalicious' Life's Sweet embellishments.

Predominantly on this page, I have two of the 4x6 Life's Sweet Large Tags / PL cards layered at the top. I cut out the cute cups originally on these cards ahead of time, because I think I'll use them later and I didn't want to waste them. I really liked the colour of the light aqua blue with the white border. It's a really nice layering piece.

So... this week, my kids suckered persuaded me to buy black pasta. (To me, it reminds me of the black webbing that surrounded Spiderman when he turned bad, but I digress.) The spaghetti is coloured with cuttlefish ink, which sounds kind of gross, but actually doesn't make any difference to the flavour.

I made a white wine and garlic sauce that was absolutely delicious, and decided that putting it into my scrapbook would ensure that I would never lose it. :)  (You can find the recipe here. I only added a squeeze of lemon, and mixed in some shrimp at the very end. Be sure to use proper heavy cream. The lemon will curdle the sauce if you just use milk). I plated it all up fancy-restaurant style with some grilled asparagus from the farmers' market on the side. Yum! (And I also figured out something to do with the leftover white wine. Win win.)

I think one of my favourite bits on this layout is this little wood veneer. Usually, I just put white acrylic paint on when I want it white, but sometimes that just yields more of a white-washed look. I wanted it to be REALLY white, so I covered it with Versamark ink and white embossing powder and then heat embossed it. Now it's super white, and shiny, too.

I made the mistake of trying to stamp over two different layers of paper at the same time with this "I Give This Meal (5 stars)", so I fixed my gaff by restamping it and layering it over one of the Life's Sweet Miscellany Stickers. No one will EVER know!

I used another stamp from the Good Eats Clear Stamp Set... "The Menu" has really fine details in it, so I stamped with a VersaFine black ink and embossed it with clear. I gave it extra dimension by adhering it to the layout with a double layer of foam tape.

On the left, I changed the tone of the "Let's Do This" snip-snip page tab by adding "Again!". Layered with a badge button gives this corner of the layout a splash of the aqua and lime green to even out the colours on the page.

And, it almost goes without saying, that there are lots of really lovely puffy stickers here, too. My layouts aren't complete without them, these days!

Thanks for checking out this layout... and if you try the recipe, let me know how you liked it!

Life is Sweet | Inspriation

Good morning and happy June! Can you believe summer is almost here? I know I can't! Some of my favorite things about summer are tea lemonades from Starbucks and the color yellow. Today's inspiration has a little of both going on.

I'm really in love with black and white with a pop of color and yellow just happens to be my favorite color. And, to top it off, the Life is Sweet collection is perfect with these colors. :)

To separate the badges from the background, I framed them with a punched paper circle. Don't you think it just adds a little pop and separates the badges from the rest of the page. The punched circle gives the badge a little extra weight on the page.

The wood veneer just did not look right in the natural color so I colored them with a black Sharpie pen and backed them with a rectangle of the same striped paper to raise the words from the page and give them more weight in the design.

One final shot showing the dimension on the page. I just love how this one turned out. Love the colors, the design and how the Evalicious products just made it perfect! :)

I hope you've enjoyed a look at this page and are inspired by something to create a project of your own. Summer, tea lemonade and Evalicious products go perfectly together. :)

Have a great day!

Project Life 2015 Week 17 & 18 | Inspiration

Hey there! This is Rachel here to share with you my 2 weeks worth of Project Life spreads.

In these 2 weeks of documentation, I decided to use more black and white photos because of their original busy background and colors. To avoid having a chaotic looking layout, this is one useful tip to stick to to achieve a well balanced and harmony project. ;)

I leave it to the Evalicious goodies to do the work to spice things up. And the Verdict, I LOVE the result! It was just so easy and peasy to add in those labels, puffy stickers and stamped images onto each card. *GRIN*

After having to use them in my Project Life spreads and other projects such as mini album, traveler's notebook insert as well as pocket letter for a good 5 months now, I truly enjoyed and appreciate how they had been part of my creative journey and I am loving these little elements so much!

I hope you enjoyed what I had shared with you and thank you so much for looking!

Love
Rach
