these are back in stock :)

hi, just a quick note (for those of you who's been wanting one of these but haven't gotten one yet) to let you know that they're back in stock. Just a small batch. This will be the last batch bc I'm already collecting for the next travel art journal:) and have to carry on with other projects in the works - destash sb kits and embellies kits! Hope you have a great weekend.

note to self

next time around (if there's a next) - request that hubby doesn't hang artwork behind crib like this. I left monkey the other day to play in her crib while I did a little cleaning and when I came back, the canvas was half dangling off the wall. Good thing it was fairly light and didn't hurt her. Oh, and spray writing on canvas (done with graphite pencil) with sealant so that tiny fingers can't add smudges to it. LOL!

a little note on washi tape

[source]

A customer of mine recently emailed me (thanks Christine!) about these little wonderful wonders so thought I'd share with you on what I know about them:)

-use them to add journaling on (must use permanent pen/marker like Sakura Microperm or Sharpie Ultrafine)
-use them as accents on your page/journal entry (see my flickr for sample entries)
-even though company says it removable and repositionable - it doesn't apply to photos because it leaves a sticky residue on them (be real sure before you stick it on your photos!)
-they can be found on Etsy. I buy mine from cutetape.com or prettytape.etsy.com bc she offers various levels of discounts depending on how many items you purchase

the unfortunate demise of Ruby Dog's

[all photos from: Ruby Dog's]

one of my fave local upcycle stores in Vancouver, Ruby Dog's, will soon be closing its doors :(. Super sad when I got the email with this announcement. Some items from my art journal kits came from this store.

I remember once overhearing the lovely owner, Leanne, say to a customer that it's so important to actively support our favourite indie stores regularly. Her suggestion was to take $50 each month and spend it amongst our fave stores. I also remember thinking to myself that it was a pretty doable thing. Only thing is I live about 45 minutes from this store and my other favourite upcycle shop in Vancouver so whenever I go, I make up for it by spending a little more;). Unfortunately, my support alone is not sufficient enough to keep shop open.

On the same note: (sorry this is gonna be cheesy so you can stop reading if you want:P) can't say thank you enough to you awesome customers of shopEvalicious.com. As you know, this blog exist because of my customers and not sponsors. Because of you, I'm inspired to create more pretty/cute things for you to play and create with and also to make these blog posts. You don't know how much it means when I see a repeat customer's name in my inbox notifying me that you like my creations enough to buy from me again. So once again, thank you thank you!!

wanted to let you know

that I'll be retiring most of my single packed embellishments (with exceptions of the assorted mix stickers and other newer creations). You may not have noticed but I've stopped making more of these items already. What's in shop has been made a while back and I'm just letting stock slowly deplete. They're a lot of work for the profit I make but because I enjoyed keeping busy (before Myelle's arrival), they were a fun thing to do. Now that time is so limited and I have to focus more on what's important and a little more profitable (so that I can keep on creating for this shop), I have to sadly say goodbye to these items. This doesn't mean that I won't occasionally make a new design of these items and include them in future kits;).

Here are some examples of the retired items:

Be sure you grab some before they're gone for good!

our time together...

...7 days a week is soon to be coming to an end as she is nearing a year and the inevitable of me returning to my jobjob is creeping closer. Our little girl is using her walker without any assistance or supervision and even walking short distances on her own now, has been napping in the afternoons without nursing first, is down to only 2 bf sessions a day (which is HUGE for us considering my history with this challenge!), eating almost all sorts of foods, is developing quite the personality - amongst other things. She is without a doubt entering toddlerhood. Have been spending quality time with her as well as time purging/cleaning.

Shop and blog will most likely be quiet for a while as we make our transition in the next month or two. Shop will remain open though :) - just no new updates. My goal for the shop is to get some yummy destash kits and items together by mid summer. Hope you'll pop by to check out what I have! Thanks so much to all my wonderful customers for all your support this year so far. I really appreciate it!

complete 2011 Christmas aj

finally got around to editing the photos I took of the completed book. so happy it's all done:). The entire book can be viewed here. I blame not getting it done sooner on the lack of a good mini photo printer:P.

Can't wait to make this year's Christmas aj and fill it up as we move along in the month. No excuse now with the new printers!
