Fun with Pocket Letter | Inspiration

Hello! This is Rachel here with you today to share on a creative and fun project I recently embarked on. The Pocket Letter!

Some of you may have heard or came across this Pocket Letter thingy on the internet that had set a new wave of excitement in the crafting and pen palling world. Or you yourself are making Pocket Letters and had sent many off to your Pocket Letter Pals. Well hey, I completed my very FIRST Pocket Letter and I wanted to show you just what I had put together and allow me to say this, it was SOOO FUN!!

With a 9 pockets trading card protector, I filled each and every pocket with pretty papers and stuffs I wanted to send to my Pocket Letter Pal. Nice little things such as washi tapes, labels, sticky notes, paper clips and most importantly a handwritten letter to my Pocket Letter Pal and tucked it in one of the pocket. Let me take you through each pocket and show you all the yummy Evalicious goodies I had included for a lovely lady I got to know from the awesome planner community!

Top row (from left to right):
Left pocket - filled it up with a couple of Evalicious fun labels and clipped the pocket closed with a handmade faux leather paper clip.
Middle pocket - used a vellum as a base card and threw in a handful of sequins and confetti. I then sealed the pocket with washi tapes and clipped on a cute speech bubble.
Right pocket – filled it with printable, die-cuts and stamped images. Again I used a cute paper clip from Evalicious to close the pocket in order to prevent anything from falling out.

Middle row (from left to right):
Left pocket – tucked in some washi tape samples.
Middle pocket – it is the main card decorated with my letter pal’s name with Evalicious alphas and nice puffy stickers.
Right pocket – I hand drew an envelope which I clipped it down with Evalicious’s round arrow paper clip. This is the pocket where my letter was slotted in at the back.

Bottom row (from left to right):
Left pocket – filled it up with cute sticky notes.
Middle pocket – stuffed in a few Evalicious badge buttons and DIY-ed a paper clip with one of them. I included 2 little charms too.
Right pocket – this got to be my most favorite pocket out of the rest. I stamped a few images of the adorable bubble tea from Evalicious latest collection - Addicted To You stamp set on random stash of pattern papers and fussy cut them. One of the bubble tea images was pasted on to the base card and I add-on a touch of watercolour to spice it up. CUTE! The extra bubble tea cut-outs were tucked in to the pocket and I really hope that my lovely friend will find them useful.

After this first session of Pocket Letter making, I’m very sure I’ll create many more of them! As for this set of Pocket Letter, it was packed nicely and ready to fly across the big blue ocean to my sweet friend who’s on the other side of the globe!

I hope you enjoyed what I shared with you, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Love
Rach

So Happy Together | Inspiration

Hi everyone! Rachel here to share with you a card I have made for my wedding anniversary which falls on the 17th of this month. Perhaps this little project could give you some inspirations in preparing a few Valentine cards? *Wink*

It is a tradition of me making cards for the husband, basically one for our wedding anniversary, and one for his birthday. This annual practice of mine started out way back to the day when we started dating (for 6 years), tied the knot in 2003 and now to celebrate our 12 years of marriage. Come to think of it, I have known this guy for a good 2 decades. I’m blessed.

This is a 5”x6” single-fold card. The main focus of this card is the balloon-shaped cut-out which I trimmed from a 3”x4” pattern card from Photo Shoot Large Tags, and hand stitched around the edge with a pink sewing thread to give that extra texture.

With the intention of not turning this card into one that is too pinkish for a guy, I picked a mint color pattern paper, added some dimensional texture with texture paste and a heart shape stencil, sprinkled some white and pink mist, popped up most of the heart shape cut-outs with 3D foam dots, lastly pasted down the balloon cut-out and the So Happy Together circle tag from Photo Shoot Round Tags.

To give that finishing touch, pretty puffy stickers, page tab and sequins are the PREFECT elements to have.

I hope he will love this card, and happy 12 to us!

Thank you for stopping by. J

Love,
Rach

Making New Memories | Inspiration

Hello! This is Rachel here with my very first blog post as part of the new Evalicious Design Team! I’m a big fan of Evalicious’s Puffy Stickers, so I did have a hard time stopping myself from using up a whole pack of puffy stickers on this project. Ha!

Being a crafter who has a strong obsession over Traveler’s Notebook, I made myself a new insert for the new year which is barely 3 weeks away. OMG. Where has all the time gone to? It is a good thing being a memory keeper, at times when our brains couldn't recap on the past moments, we have our albums, journals and notebooks to go to.

This Traveler’s Notebook insert has a kraft paper cover with a dimension of approximately 11cm x 21cm, which many of us identify this as a regular size traveler’s notebook insert. I couldn’t stand how bare and sad-looking it is, therefore I dolled it up with pretty papers, old old storybook pages, paper bag, washi tapes, stamps, mist, puffy stickers, paper clips, ribbon, some machine stitches and called it my own, the one of a kind notebook. Plus, I pulled out a piece of vellum with cute little camper prints on it, laminated it, glued on a piece of wood venner, and VIOLA it turned into a handy page marker for my traveler’s notebook!

Psst.. put your eyes on the back cover. Are you able to spot the secret compartment I created using the red polka dots paper bag? I folded the paper bag into half, trimmed off the bottom sealed portion, punched a semicircle, and there I have another pocket on the inside of my notebook insert. I like to have pockets in my notebook inserts, where I can keep little notes away and have easy access to them.

I had fun altering this notebook insert, and I very much hope that this little project of mine gave you some inspiration to work on your plain and sad-looking notebook (if you have any)!

Here’s me signing off for now, but I’m looking forward to my next round of project sharing!

Love,
Rach

Photographic Evidence | Inspiration

Hi there!

Laura here sharing my very first post as part of the newest Evalicious DT with you all today.  Oh how I missed using these fabulous products over the last couple of months, I mean I do still have lots in my stash but I was so busy working on other things, that I am just so grateful for the NEED to have scrapped with them!

I just loved this card, the saying is so true, which is why I had to feature it heavily on my page.   I printed my photos in s small scale, filmstrip style to play off of the quote.

Check out some close up shots....

The colours are so fab, I pulled  out the orange with some water colour paint.  I used it to paint the edges of the large and small cards.

Eve's new wood elements are incredible, I am so glad that she decided to add wood accents to her shop.  Don't you just love the designs?

I have long been a fan of the Evalicious badge buttons, so graphic and pretty.

The puffy stickers are fab too, I used a black fine tip marker to accent them a little more.

I added more water colour paints on my background via a sponge and a mask, and a  little black Mr. Huey's, too.
