Badge Buttons | Inspiration
I am also a whee bit obsessed with the succulents that are in my bedroom.I used a recent printed instagram photo that didn't work for another layout. I made the photo the center of the layout and traced a fairly large circle around it in pencil that I later erased potions of and traced the remaining image with black ink to create the image of a segmented outer circle. I chose different badge buttons from Eve's collections and filled in the circle- super easy and fun!
Evalicious supplies // love you lots v2 badge buttons // so daily v1 badge buttons // schools in v3 badge buttons // quote bubbles badge buttons // hotel signs badge buttons // my week sayings badge buttons // say cheese badge buttons // vintage labels mini flatback buttons // love you lots miscellany tags
I love the added flair and dimension of this layout that these buttons created! I hope you are having a great week and creating something beautiful. Don't forget to share how you use your badge buttons at our flickr pool.

Finding Balance | Tutorial

In the video you'll see my process of how I tackled this layout. It's the complete deal, from start to finish (well.. actually... minus the end part where the batteries ran out on my camera and so you don't get the final embellishments and journaling. Sorry!) But all the important parts are there. What you'll also notice is what an indecisive scrapper I am. I didn't really plan this layout before I turned on the camera so you see the real deal. You see me try out different embellishments in different places, then think they're not working and move them... only to move them back again!
Feel free to just sit back and watch the video and see for yourself what I've done. But I'm also going to explain some of the techniques in more detail here too.
The main technique focus on this layout is the background colouring. Here's how I did it.....
First I swiped some gesso onto my background paper with an old credit card. The credit card trick means it goes on quite thin which will allow it to dry almost instantly and creates a waterproof layer for the next step. Then I spray some water lightly over the gesso, flick on some mist, then spray more water onto it to move the colour around. It will pool in certain areas and create a lovely water-colour effect that's so popular currently.
To create more depth in my background I used Distress Ink that's a slightly darker colour than my water-colour and sponged it on through a stencil in random areas. It just gives it slightly more interest I think. But the real star of the show is of course the fabulous Evalicious Real Life Page Tabs that are scattered across the page. I tried to challenge myself to use a whole packet on one layout and I didn't even come close! There's just too many in a packet if you cut them all up like I did. Plus I was only really choosing the ones that matched the colours on my page ;-)
Because this page is quite flat I felt I needed to add some extra texture to it (that's how my brain works anyway!) So I included some twine stapled to the background layers and finished it off with messy stitching on my machine. My journaling came last and I added it to the top and the bottom for balance. Sorry.... pun intended!

Project Life | Inspiration
Hi Everyone! Christine here to show you a few of my current Project Life pages featuring wonderful Evalicious products! I’ve been having so much fun using Evalicious tags, stamps, labels, tabs, die cuts, and badge buttons in my Project Life album!
I created my title pocket using a circle die cut from Real Life Miscellany Tags.
On the left journal card, I used some washi tape and another tag from Real Life Miscellany Tags. I put a blue enamel dot in the middle of the camera graphic to give the journal card a little dimension. On the right journal card, I stamped the typewriter stamp onto white cardstock and cut it out. I stamped the “hello” in yellow. Then I adhered it to my cardstock with a piece of yellow washi tape behind it to make it stand out. Evalicious stamps make great DIY filler cards!
I wrote my journaling on a Real Life Snipsnip 3x4 Tag, then I stamped the date on the bottom.
For this week, I used Photoshop to hand-write some journaling onto my photos before printing them out. I combined the handwriting with some typed journaling, because I really like the combination of both!
The “I Eat” stamp makes me happy. I get a lot of use out of that one, ha ha!
On the left I journaled on a This & That 3x4 Tag. I love how easy it is to just write on these and slip them into the pockets.
The next two photos, I adhered some Documented Circle Tags right onto my photo for some easy embellishment of my photos.
Lots of Evalicious tabs, tags, badge buttons, and stamps this week.
I folded a So Daily Page Tab and adhered it onto my photo. Since this is a top pocket in my protector, I just let the tab stick out.
I stamped The Everyday banner stamp onto white cardstock and cut it out. Then I stapled it right onto my photo. On the right I journaled on a This & That 3x4 Tag and colored in parts of the polaroid graphic.
Stamped the date on a tab from Documented Circle Tags and stapled it onto my patterned paper base. Then I used a This & That 3x4 Tag as a base for my Instagram self-portrait, and stamped the date on the “label” part of the tag. I love how the stapled tab on the left and the 3x4 tag on the right both have gray woodgrain on them.
The orange badge button from So Daily V1 Badge Buttons was the perfect accent for my photo collage of lunch with friends. I adhered it to the outside of the pocket so that my pocket doesn’t get warped.
I love using my Evalicious goodies for Project Life. They make my pages come together very quickly! I hope you enjoyed a look at my Project Life pages and are inspired to do some of your own!

Mixed-media background | Tutorial
The first step is to apply a thin layer of gesso all over the area you want to play with. I use a knife but you can use an old credit card.
As I am not patient enough, I didn't wait long enough to play with my watercolor. The gesso wasn't completly dry and you can see on the left bottom corner that it makes some small bubbles.
Again, wait until it's dry to place your stencil (this whole tutorial is about waiting, haha). I use washi tape to keep it in place. And then spread some molding paste all over the stencil (be careful not to spread outside of it). The paste will fill all the little holes to create a very nice volume effect.
Then you can work on your picture and arrange all the elements together.
Finally it's time to glu this montage on your background, to add your title and journaling and your layout is ready!

It was a very long step to step tutorial but I hope you enjoyed it and that you will give mixed-media background a try. And don't forget to share your evalicious projects with us in our flickr gallery.

Perfect Autumn Moment | Inspiration
I know all you lucky Nothern-Hemispherians are beginning to feel the warmth of spring, but here in Australia we're going full steam ahead into Autumn. Personally I much prefer the sunshine, but you have to admit that nothing compares to the vibrance and beauty of the natural colours of what many of you call 'Fall'. It was that classic colour scheme I had in mind when I sat down to create my Inspiration Layout.
After pulling out the papers I was going to work with I began to hunt through my Evalicious stash to figure out what I would use. What tags and badges were going to match the colour scheme best I thought?
Once I discovered the So Daily Snipsnip tags had all the right colours in them I figured I would get out the whole collection from So Daily because obviously they would all match!! Too Easy! Now I've got the basis for my layout sorted. (ahhemmm.... yes I took the photo of my stash after I made my layout which is why all the bits I used are now missing!)
It didn't take much work from there to simply layer up paint and paper and plenty of tags! I like my layouts to be quite textural but not too 'fat' so the badge buttons are the perfect embellishment for me. Clustering two of them together like this just makes them stand out even more I think.
Have you ever been so inspired by one of our Evalicious collections that you just had to have it all? And then used the variety of the products all on one page like I have? If so, we would love to see it posted in our Flikr gallery! Every so often we chose a project that's caught our eye to feature here on the blog and to win a prize. Here's what I used on my page:
So Daily Large Tags
So Daily Snipsnip Labels
So Daily Page Tabs
So Daily Badge Buttons V1

Stamps: Label It Set
