20150405-IMG_5498_Evalicious_CN

Hello there, Evalicious fans!  Christine here today to show you a layout I created using mainly stamping as my background.

I started with a white cardstock background and drew some horizontal lines in pencil with my t-square ruler.

Then I picked out some Evalicious stamps and stamped in alternating colors across each line.

When I was done, I had a colorful stamped background for my layout.  I added some paper strips in matching colors across the top and bottom of my layout to anchor and balance.

I filled in the “Date / Place” stamped images with the information from our trip.  On our trip to the Big Island of Hawaii, we celebrated my birthday with lunch at the Four Seasons.

I added some paper and embellishments around my photo to make it stand out from the stamped background.

I love how the stamped background turned out!

Try stamping a background next time you make a layout!  Evalicious has lots of travel and everyday stamps that are just perfect for this purpose.

Hope you enjoyed having a look at my process of putting this layout together!  Thanks for stopping by!

We Were Here | Inspiration

Hello all!  Wendy here and let's greet this month of March head on with some beachy, springy, sunshiny vibes, shall we?  In living about 40 min from the beach (hey, don't hate) and the serenity of the Gulf Coast, I am completely absorbed in the peace and calm of the ocean.  Honestly, I can say I've never experienced a 'true' winter (again, don't envy) but I do like to share up my Gulf Coast living around here.  I've probably taken a million seagull pictures but each one is so unique.  Something about seagulls (their sound is the best), pelicans (their beaks are a bit scary as one did snap at me once...ok, I digress) and the beach....well, all collective of 'easy living' to pause and reflect.

So, let's vacay together in my project today.

Somehow my husband spends more time at the beach than I do, I'm still working out that equation. Ha!  And I always joke with him that the seagulls and pelicans are his bodyguards and best friends.  They croak at me (and steal my sandwich, truth) and soar with open wings to him .  I don't get it!  We are both quite lovable but oh well....'we were here' together. Ha!

I love the Evalicious badge buttons.  The cool typewriter words in the Vintage Maps Badge Buttons are perfect for adding to the edge of your photos.  I also used Snip Snip page tabs  and Snip Snip Labels layered around my photos too.

It's fun to mix it up with stamping as layers around photos.  I used the 'fly away' stamp from the Fly Away Stamp Set.

I added some watercoloring and free form messy journaling as another layer on my project.

I hope you enjoyed our mini vacation (for a moment) together!

xo, Wendy

Photographic Evidence | Inspiration

Hello all!  Wendy here to share up a bit of weekend inspiration!

Sometimes you need a bit of a fun and colorful project to push through the winter chill.  I'm bringing you just that today...a bit of colorful vibes for your weekend.  I love to bring a bit of random and unexpected to a project.  Many times I keep my mixed media projects less involved and more on a cleaner style with lots of white space.

After watercoloring my background.  I layered a tag from the Photo Shoot Large Tags behind my photo.

Then, I added touches of embellishing with puffy stickers, stamping, and a badge button.  You can find all the links below for the product.

I hope you enjoyed my project!

This Weekend Looked Like This | Inspiration

Hello all! Wendy here and bringing a bit of sun, sand, and surf this chilly day of January.  I love to re-cap memories from all seasons (and sometimes from a year or two ago).  Many times I use a photo more than once in my projects simply because it's a fav and I want to create with it with a different flair.  In this case, I used a fav photo of my husband when we were at the local beach (Orange Beach, AL) from a couple of years ago.  I did a spin on a 'layout' to working the photo onto a tag.  Nothing wrong with changing it up a bit, right?

I spritzed the foundation of my tag with misting of paint and even hand dyed the ribbon with the mist.

I used a journaling card from the Photo Shoot Large Tags to layer behind my photo.

Then, I added a flair button from the Field Notes Badge Button v1.  Those buttons are SO fun and add just the perfect pop of dimension to a flat project.

As I've said before, I can't get enough of the NEW wood veneers from Evalicious!  So, I 'had' to use a wood veneer banner from the Field Notes Wood Veneer.  LOVE them.

I finished off my tag with a few pearl accents.  Now, I'm thinking to add my tag as a fun twist into my mini version of Project Life album.

I hope you enjoyed my project!

Corso NYC | Inspiration

Hello All!  Wendy here to share up some weekend inspiration for ya first of all...

HAPPY {INTER} NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY (NSD)!!

Have you shopped it up yet with the amazing special NSD sale happening here with Evalicious?
Cool stuff to be had, so go & get some! :)

So, I'm bringing you a fun layout, Corso NYC, today using my mixed media flair and some sweet Evalicious goodies, of course.

My inspiration for this layout came from a trip to NYC last Spring '13.  My fiancĂ© & I stayed at the Paramount Hotel in the heart of NYC and it was AMAZING in decor & location but the best feature was the WONDERFUL Italian coffee shop right in the wing of the hotel, Corso.  The scent alone just lured you in at all times of day and I'm not even a coffee lover. Yes, surprise.  I do love a cappuccino well because it's mostly milk. Ha!  However, my fiancĂ© as being Italian is ALL about some daily rounds of the strong stuff, Espresso.  No wonder it comes in only a 'shot glass' as it goes straight to the veins. Ha!

So, when in NYC, definitely check out Corso, so worth a pop in to stand (as they have no chairs/benches) for a coffee + delicious pastry.

Yes, don't forget the pastry. Good stuff.  Thumbs up!

Here's a bit more 'behind-the-scenes' of my layout....

For the 'coffee stains', I used a stencil and Liquitex Modeling Paste.  I mixed Gouache paint in Burnt Sienna with the modeling paste for the brown color.  I love the texture of modeling paste for a dimensional and different twist to my projects.  Always make sure to let your modeling paste dry completely before proceeding with the rest of your project.

Next, I added the perfect 'yes' and clock badge buttons from Everyday V2 Badge Buttons and the coffee mug badge button from Everyday V1 Badge Buttons.  Just the perfect accents to add to my 'coffee stains'.

How about that stamp?!  I used the 'time of the day' stamp from the Love Today Stamp Set.  I used it along the edge of my photo.  The Evalicious stamps are like a dream in crisp images of great quality when stamping.  I'm rather picky about my stamps, and they just rock!

Behind the photo I used the 'this is so daily' large tag from the So Daily collection.

Did you know Evalicious also has stickers?! Yep, for the sweet ending to my layout, I used the 'yes' coffee mug sticker from Everyday Miscellany Stickers.

Hope I inspired you today!
